Maradona
Commissioned by Universidad San Sebastián in Santiago, Chile: the concept and creation of an image about Diego Maradona using a classical, old-master painting technique. His whole career — from the World Cup to Napoli — gathered into a single canvas and presented as a framed museum piece.
The idea
The brief asked for a concept and an image built with an old technique. We imagined Maradona’s career as a classical painting: a heroic, layered composition that reads like a museum masterpiece rather than a sports poster.
The craft
Dozens of moments were composed, painted over and unified under one light and palette in Photoshop, so the whole piece reads as a single painted canvas, finished with an ornate gilded frame.
